Some Winter Park residents are still smiling despite the logs and branches piled along city streets after Hurricane Irma. They've blended creativity with positivity.

The result? Piles of smiles.

The First Baptist Church along New York Avenue and residents along Palmer Avenue have spray painted smiley faces on the logs piled beside the road.

Winter Park Mayor Steve Leary said he admired how the residents chose to stay positive during the ongoing cleanup effort after Irma.

"They're making lemonade out of lemons," Leary said. "I think it reminds people that the piles are still there, but things could be a lot worse. Keep smiling, and we'll smile our way through it."
