An esteemed custom home builder and Maitland resident has received one of the most coveted accolades of all: respect and recognition by his peers.

Chad Cahill, president of Cahill Homes, recently was named Builder of the Year by the Master Custom Builder Council — an invitation-only organization comprising the top custom homebuilders in Central Florida.

The builders from the council unanimously agreed on Cahill’s recognition.

“It’s an honor,” Cahill said. “It’s a fabulous organization. The Master Custom Builder Council has been around (for 30 years), and I grew up involved in the MCBC as my dad was one of (the) early members of the organization.

“It’s an organization that I really respect, and it was a privilege and an honor to say the least that the 22 members all voted for me to be Builder of the Year,” he said.

Cahill credited the staff he works with at Cahill Homes.

“We have an awesome team — the team that we’ve built to execute the homeowner’s desires and wishes on a daily basis is pretty magnificent,” Cahill said. “Everything is done with excellence. I couldn’t be more proud of the team who obviously helped get me to the spot where I am and being named Builder of the Year. It’s not a one-man show; it’s a group effort.”

Based in Winter Park, Cahill Homes was founded in 1977 by Chad’s father, Steve. The company has become a key player in the custom home building market since then. Cahill Homes has been a member of the MCBC for more than 30 years and is one of only a few select custom home builders in the exclusive custom home community Golden Oak at Walt Disney World Resort.

It’s been a privilege to work within that community, Cahill said.

“I’m proud to be a builder there — it’s an incredible opportunity for us to showcase our gifts and our talent of building beautiful homes in such an amazing community,” Cahill said. “Golden Oak has transformed the Orlando community and the offerings that are available. It gives the world a place to land, being at Disney.”

The market for custom-built homes continues to thrive in the Central Florida, Cahill said,

“I see the market right now as strong,” he said. “There’s no better time to build.”
