Work begins on DP project
Taylor Morrison began construction on their gated 34-lot, 11-acre development, The Reserve at Phillips Cove, located at Turkey Lake Road and Conroy Windermere Road, Orlando in the Dr. Phillips and Windermere area.

Prices will start from the high $400,000s for four- and five-bedroom homes ranging from 2,600 to 4,100 square feet. The average lot size will be 60-feet-by-140-feet and will include one- and two-story floor plans.

Pulte to host celebration
Royal Estates, a luxury community of single-family homes off Reams Road near Windermere, will host a celebration for the opening of Phase 2 with 62 additional home sites from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at 9412 Royal Estates Blvd., Orlando. 

Of the 62 new home sites at Royal Estates, 30 will be waterfront. In addition, roads into Phase 2 have been completed so home buyers may drive through the entire community.

The community offers four one- and two-story home designs with four, five and six bedrooms, up to six baths, and three-car garages. Prices start from the high $300,000s. Amenities at Royal Estates include a resort-style swimming pool, cabana and tot lot.

Solar panels now a Meritage standard
Meritage Homes announced it will install high efficiency SunPower solar panels on new homes purchased from the builder in the Orlando metro area during 2016. 

“Thanks to a partnership with SunPower, homes purchased from Meritage Homes during 2016 that are to be built in the Orlando area will harness the same sunshine that has made our state such an appealing place to live,” said Orlando Division President Brian Kittle. “We are proud to make this commitment not only to our homebuyers, but also to the future of our environment.”

Each 2-kilowatt solar electric system — valued at more than $10,000 per home — will be provided standard to homebuyers of to-be-constructed homes and also may qualify purchasers for up to a 30% tax credit.

Homeowners can track their solar production and estimate their savings at any time through a computer or mobile device.

M/I Homes to open town house sales
M/I Homes will open sales of its new town houses in Hickory Hammock in Winter Garden this month.

David Byrnes, area president for M/I Homes in the Orlando region, said 28 luxury town houses will be offered at the gated community located off Marsh Road and Stoneybrook West Parkway on Johns Lake near Winter Garden Village.

The three-bedroom, two-bath town houses at Hickory Hammock range from 1,600 square feet of living area to 2,370 square feet, priced from the high $230s, Byrnes said.

Construction of a model town houses is underway. 

Community amenities include a 3,600-square-foot community clubhouse with a resort-style swimming pool, catering kitchen and fitness center, two tennis courts and volleyball courts.

Byrnes said M/I Homes sold more than 80 single-family homes at Hickory Hammock in 2015 priced from the mid-$250,000s to more than $1 million.

Women’s clinic opens in Pine Hills
The Easy Access Women’s Health Clinic in Pine Hills celebrated its recent opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. 

Jennie Joseph, executive director and clinical director began the festivities with the ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by remarks from dignitaries including U.S. Rep Dan Webster, Orlando District 5 Commissioner Regina Hill, Orange County District 6 Commissioner Victoria Siplin and Apopka Council Seat 2 Diane Velazquez.

The new clinic is focused on the needs of homeless, low-income, underserved and uninsured women in Pine Hills and West Orlando. Through the clinic, these residents have access to culturally competent women’s health care during pregnancy, postpartum and for gynecology services.
