Egg-stra special events: Egg Hunts in West Orange

There’s no shortage of Easter Egg hunts in West Orange County — each with its own twist. At some events, helicopters will drop easter eggs. At others, the Easter Bunny will be on hand to take photos. We’re here to help you find the best hunt.

OCOEE
Egg Ocoee 2016
Glad Tidings Church, 
2009 Fullers Cross Road, Ocoee
WHEN: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 26
DETAILS: Helicopters will drop 20,000 easter eggs, with three different hunts for various age groups. Ages 3 and younger hunt at 9:30 a.m.; 4 to 6 go at 10:15; and 7 and up hunt at 11 a.m. Games, rides, bounce houses, food and other activities will be open starting at 9 a.m. (407) 656-4140

Starke Lake Baptist Church Egg Hunt
Starke Lake Baptist Church, 
611 West Ave., Ocoee 
WHEN: 10 a.m. to noon 
Saturday, March 26
DETAILS: Come out for a free egg hunt for toddlers through sixth grade. The event will also include a bounce house, candy and pizza. (407) 656-2351. 

City of Ocoee Easter Eggstravaganza 
Jim Beech Recreation Center, 1820 A.D. Mims Road, Ocoee

WHEN: 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 26
DETAILS: Kids can hunt for thousands of candy-filled Easter eggs starting at 10:30 a.m., but the festivities include much more than that. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to take photos, and children can enjoy arts and crafts, face painting and inflatables. Snacks are available for purchase. The event is open to children 12 and younger. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the West Orange Christian Service Center. (407) 905-3180 or ocoee.org.  

Egg-stravaganza at Ocoee Church of God
Ocoee Church of God, 1105 N. Lakewood Ave., Ocoee 
WHEN: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Saturday, March 26
DETAILS: More than 2,000 Easter eggs will be at this family-friendly event. There will be an egg hunt for ages 2 to 5 and an egg run for ages 6 to 8 and 9 to 11. There also will be prizes, inflatables and food.

Easter Celebration at Bill Breeze Park
Bill Breeze Park, 150 N. Lakeshore Drive, Ocoee 
WHEN: 10:30 a.m. Sunday, 
March 27
DETAILS: Elevation Church presents Easter in Ocoee, with 10,000 easter eggs. The event also will include free family photos, a bounce house and face painting. 
WINTER GARDEN
Winter Garden Lions Club Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Newton Park, 29 W. Garden Ave.
WHEN: 10:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 26
DETAILS: Egg hunts for children of all ages begin at 10:30 a..m., a time change from past Easter egg hunts.  It is strongly recommended that participants arrive around 9:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. to avoid parking delays. 

Easter at Hope Church
West Orange High School, 1625 Beulah Road, Winter Garden WHEN: 10 a.m. Sunday, March 27
DETAILS: Attend for a family photo booth, doughnuts, orange juice and coffee, as well 5,000 Easter eggs. At 10:30 a.m., there will be live music, engaging videos and an inspirational message.

OasisKids Easter Egg Hunt
Oasis Community Church, 607 Avalon Road, Winter Garden WHEN: 12:30 p.m. Sunday,

DETAILS: Join Oasis for an egg hunt with 1,000 eggs.

WINDERMERE
Windemere’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Windermere Town Square
WHEN: 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26
DETAILS: Join the Easter Bunny, Mayor Gary Bruhn and Windermere Police Chief David Ogden in a parade to Town Square, where the Easter egg hunt will begin. Take your camera to take photos with the Easter Bunny. Drinks will be provided for children. This event is co-sponsored by First Baptist Church Windermere, which is providing a train ride for kids. SOUTHWEST ORANGE
Easter at C/Life
Chain of Lakes Middle School Auditorium, 8700 Conroy 
Windermere Road, Orlando
WHEN: 10 a.m. Sunday, March 27
DETAILS: An Easter service with a kids ministry takes place at 10 a.m., and an egg hunt will follow the service. This event includes 20,000 eggs, some of which contain items like a Toys R Us shopping spree, tablets and scooters. All children who attend the kids service will receive a VIP egg hunt bracelet.
