Winter Park Day Nursery held its Orange Blossom Jubilee on April 27, 2012 at the Winter Park Community Center. Attendance was 150; and the amount raised was nearly $60,000.
A group of local pastors and priests came together on April 26 to hold a prayer service for Winter Park students Jeremy Stewart and Nic Presha, who were found dead alongside the Cady Way Trail.
On Wednesday, April 18, the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce hosted the 27th annual Taste of Winter Park presented by CenturyLink, the organization’s annual food festival. The Ravenous Pig was honored with Best Main Course for its lobster “hot dog”. Best Side Dish was presented to Mi Tomatina, Paella Bar for its braised ox tail. The Bohemian Baker’s lavender tea cake was awarded Best Dessert. The Best Booth Display went to 4 Rivers Smokehouse. Finally, a new award this year recognized the Best Healthy Dish and was presented to The Ancient Olive/ The Spice & Tea Exchange for the pairing of Waterkist Farms’ heirloom tomato with olive oils, balsamic vinegars and specialty salt.
The Art & History Museums – Maitland’s Participation, Circus of the Surreal, was an artistic and financial success. The event raised $24,080, an increase of $5,277 over last year.
