On July 23, Rollins College students and faculty members volunteered to make Winter Park a more sustainable place by focusing on green spaces including neighborhood parks, ecological reserves, pocket parks and community gardens, all of which contribute to the environmental, economical and social sustainability of the city. In keeping with the theme, volunteers met on the lawn in front of the Rollins College Student Resource Center, and then walked or biked to the site.
The Rum Ball to benefit the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida was July 15 at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market. There were restaurant tastings, rum drinks and entertainment by Caribbean Groove. Visit dsacf.org
Winter Park hosted the 16th annual Olde Fashioned 4th of July Celebration on Monday, July 4, in Central Park. Children’s activities included the bicycle parade from City Hall to Central Park, as well as games and inflatables.
