Culinary artisans prepared unique cuisines at the Whisper Creek farm to support local produce.
Guests were welcome to a smorgasboard of cuisines during the first Homestead Harvest event on Thursday, Oct. 26. The dinner, held at Grand Lakes Orlando's Whisper Creek Farm, offered meals cooked up from over a dozen different Florida chefs. Some of the food offered ranged from grits with pineapple jam to smoked alligator ribs, the latter served by the night's featured chef and Top Chef contestant Kenny Gilbert. The event benefited Fleet Farming, a nonprofit that encourages hyperlocal produce farming to reduce environmental damage. Much of the Grand Lakes Orlando's produce is grown at Whisper Creek Farm.
