Community members came together at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home to remember veterans and fallen soldiers.
GOTHA Hundreds of community members came out to attend Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home’s 66th annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 30. The service, which started at 10 a.m., featured music performed by the Orlando Concert Band and singer Linda McKenzie. After a presentation of colors, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office did a flyover during the National Anthem, followed by three keynote speakers: Sergeant Stephen Tovet, Major John M. Williams II and Chief Val Demings.
The service also included a flowers of remembrance ceremony and the placing of wreaths of remembrance. Boy Scouts helped toll the Liberty Bell, followed by a rifle volley salute from the Orange County Sheriff’s Honor Guard and a performance of Echo Taps by the Orlando Concert Band.
