More than 150 runners attended the second annual Patsy and Patti 5K Care Run/Walk. This year, the event benefited Ken Norat, the husband of teacher Dawn Norat, who has cancer. Proceeds will go to help the family with medical expenses.
“It’s awesome,” Ken said. “I’m very humbled.”
The event was put together by the National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society.
“We’re so proud of them,” said Mary Ellen Murray, an event organizer.
The event began last year to support Patsy Ford and Patti Cogburn, two Foundation Academy teachers who were diagnosed with breast cancer last year. They both were able to come to this year’s event.
“It’s just thrilling to see so many people gather around to help others in our school family in their time of need,” said Lorne Wenzel, the headmaster of Foundation Academy.
