A second helicopter reportedly crashed into the lake Tuesday near Oakland.
A recovery crew pulling out a helicopter that crashed into Lake Apopka Tuesday morning discovered a second chopper that reportedly crashed that same day. A crane parked at the Winter Garden boat ramp pulled the helicopter from the lake Wednesday afternoon and loaded it onto a flatbed trailer.
No further information was immediately available on the second helicopter.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office’s Marine Unit responded to a call regarding the first crash, which took place around 8 a.m. No serious injuries were reported.
The helicopters are registered to Coastal Helicopters Inc., which was performing aerial agricultural spraying around the lake.
The NTSB and FAA are investigating the crashes.
