The town celebrated its history and heritage Saturday, Oct. 22.
Oakland’s Speer Park was full of music, fun, entertainment and town history as the town of Oakland and the Oakland Nature Preserve held the 19th annual heritage festival.
The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation provided a glimpse of Oakland’s beginnings with historic photos and information. Vendors set up booths, and food trucks were parked along the perimeter. Hay rides and tours of Lake Apopka were conducted. Proceeds benefit the nature preserve.
