Veterans and the community came together during a ceremony at Bill Breeze Park in honor and recognition of Veterans Day.
The city of Ocoee honored its veterans and observed Veterans Day during a ceremony held at Bill Breeze Park on Friday, Nov. 10. The Ocoee Middle School Wind Ensemble was present to play “An American Hymntune” and “Marches of the Armed Forces,” during which veterans were encouraged to stand and be recognized for their service. Former U.S. Army First Lieutenant Norb Weller, who served in the Vietnam War, was the keynote speaker for the day. To end the ceremony, the Ocoee Fire Department Honor Guard carried a wreath to the city’s Memorial Wall, retired the colors and raised the memorial flag to half mast.
