Dr. Phillips High's annual ceremony honors the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Dr. Phillips High Air Force Junior ROTC cadets and other students gathered at the school’s flagpole on Wednesday, Sept. 11, to commemorate the 18th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. The school’s sixth annual Memorial Tribute honors those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 attacks and the first responders who sprung into action on one of the darkest days of American history. The school’s ROTC instructor Lt. Colonel Rick Proctor, who is retired from the U.S. Air Force, led the ceremony, and introduced the keynote speaker, Sgt. Menachem Green of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Green provided search and rescue services at ground zero in the days that followed the Sept. 11 attacks.
