Food trucks, games and fireworks highlighted a night of patriotism during the Independence community's festive event.
It was all red, white and blue as locals and visitors flocked to Independence Commons to take in the area's first big Fourth of July celebration of the year Saturday, June 26.
Held in the Independence Community from 6 to 9 p.m., visitors enjoyed a variety of food trucks, children enjoyed games in the children's area and a DJ was on hand to play music to a crowd enjoying a cloudy afternoon.
The night was ultimately capped off with an explosive firework show.
