A strong night on the mound for Legacy's Jacob Worley led the Eagles to their first win of the season.
The Legacy Eagles baseball team started off their season strong, as they picked up a huge 5-3 win against The First Academy on Thursday, Feb. 28.
Despite a tough start to the game for TFA (1-1), the Royals rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but the effort fell just short.
On the mound for the Eagles (1-0) was Jacob Worley, who pitched a complete game that saw the junior give up only three runs on seven hits. Offensively the Eagles' Jayden Colon (2-for-4, 2 RBI) had a solid night, while Gabriel Chambless scored two runs.
Next up for the Eagles is a home matchup with Trinity Christian Academy (2-1) on Monday, Mar. 4, while the Royals look to rebound against Crescent City (1-1) on Monday.
