Unique visual elements enhance a classic story
Windermere Preparatory School is welcoming the Halloween season by retelling a classic literary tale with tricks, treats and several ghost stories.
“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” centers on the tale of Ichabod Crane and his fate at the hands of the Headless Horseman, but other mysterious stories are part of the telling. “The monologues are so very long,” said director BambiEllen Fadoul. “I wanted to support the students, but in a manner (that) the audience is also going to be entertained.”
Shadow puppets, a dancer, and a full reenactment of the battle in which a Hessian trooper becomes The Headless Horseman are how Fadoul and the cast transformed a short story into a pageant of gothic enchantments.
Performances are Thursday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. Attendees must wear a mask inside at all times. Tickets are available at TeachTix.com.
