UPDATE: According to Captain Scott Allen of the Winter Garden Police Department, Bostic has turned himself into police custody. 

 

Previously reported: Winter Garden Police are searching the area for a 13-year-old suspect after a deadly shooting in the early hours of July 4. 

Captain Scott Allen of the Winter Garden Police Department said officers are searching for 13-year-old Vamari Bostic, who is suspected in the deadly shooting of 25-year-old James Anthony Bacon. Bostic should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police. 

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at around 2 a.m. Thursday morning at the intersection of West Crown Point Road and Edgeways Drive, according to a news release from police. Officers said they discovered Bacon, who had been shot in the torso. 

Officers attempted CPR and Bacon was transported to the hospital, but the victim died soon after arriving.

Police said Bacon was walking north along West Crown Point Road when he encountered Bostic and was shot. 

Allen said police have obtained a warrant for first degree murder for Bostic, whose whereabouts are still unknown. 

Bostic is 5 feet, 8 inches and 130 pounds, and was last seen wearing red shirt and dark shorts, according to the warrant.

Authorities say the incident was related to a weeks-long dispute between the two.
