The holiday season is an appropriate time to do something for the caregiver.

During this holiday season, let’s consider giving a gift to someone who really deserves it: a family caregiver.

Many family caregivers volunteer and, in the process, sacrifice their jobs and social lives to devote their time to a loved one in need.

Ironically, many caregivers don’t take care of themselves because they are so busy with the person they are helping.

The holiday season is an appropriate time to do something for the caregiver. For example, you can offer to shop for their holiday presents and wrap them or you could do their housework. Sending a gift basket isn't a bad idea, either.

Any one of these deeds will show someone who is caring for others that they are appreciated. It will help make them a better caregiver as well!
