Public works pipeline

The Maitland Public Works Department continues its work for all Maitland residents. Here you will find a list of completed projects and projects in the pipeline.

Completed:

➢ Keller Ball field lighting replacement

➢ Lift Station No. 13 valve vault reconstruction

➢ Ground water storage tank No. 6 and No. 6A rehabilitation

In the pipeline:

o Pedestrian and bicycle access to Maitland’s SunRail station: Engineering plans have been submitted to the Florida Department of Transportation for permitting.

o Old Horatio Covered Bridge roof replacement: Contract for construction was awarded on Feb. 23.

o Maitland Community Park water transmission upgrade: Plans are being prepared for construction of a new water transmission main from Mayo Avenue to Arapaho Trail.

o Lift Station No. 4 diversion project: Engineering is underway for construction of a sanitary sewer force main under Horatio Avenue to provide for increased capacity. The work will be performed in a way to minimize disruption on this crucial east-west thoroughfare.

PAM will perform at the Spring Festival of the Arts on April 11 and 12 at Lake Lily Park.

The Mayoral Inauguration for mayor-elect Dale McDonald will be April 13 at 6:30 p.m. in Maitland City Council Chambers.

There will be an adult, child and infant CPR class provided by the Maitland Fire Rescue Department on April 30 at 5 p.m. in City Council Chambers.

Screen on the Green’s next showings will be at the Maitland Middle School Soccer Field, located at 1901 Choctaw Trail.

Art & History Museums - Maitland will present Culture Pop! on May 29 at 7 p.m. The event is free for members or $5 for non-members.

CMC Designation awarded to employee

City of Maitland employee Kathy Sotero was recognized at Monday's City Council meeting for her recently awarded Certified Municipal Clerk designation. The International Institute of Municipal Clerks describes the process: "The IIMC grants the CMC designation only to those municipal clerks who complete demanding educational requirements and who have a record of significant contributions to their local government, their community and state.”
