See 'Zootopia' under the stars

Join us for the next Screen on the Green

As the weather cools, this weekend is the perfect time to watch a movie outside with your friends and neighbors. The November Screen on the Green movie is “Zootopia.” On Saturday, Nov. 5, bring your blankets and chairs to the Maitland Middle School Soccer Field at 1901 Choctaw Trail and we'll bring you the stars. The movie begins at 7 p.m.

Art Under the Stars returns Nov. 11-13

The Rotary Club of Maitland will host the 40th Art Under the Stars Festival at Lake Lily Park from Nov. 11 to 13. The following featured artists will exhibit their artwork at Lake Lily Park: Charleston-based photographer Paul Shatz, Orlando-based graphic designer Victor Bokas, self-taught illustrator Edson Campos, DeLand-based mixed media artist Bobbi Baugh, Orlando-based graphite pencil artist Jason Hunt, and Winter Springs-based concept artist Collin Margerum. A full list of exhibiting list of exhibiting artists can be found at maitlandrotaryartfestival.com.

Presidential voting information

Early voting: Early voting, held at Maitland Community Park from 8 a.m. through 8 p.m., runs through Sunday, Nov. 6.

Voting on Election Day: Maitland City Hall will not be a polling place for the Nov. 8 General Election. The list of precinct numbers and corresponding precinct locations follows below. On Nov. 8, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m.

Donations scam

The city has been informed that individuals have been making solicitation calls identifying themselves as representatives of the Maitland Police or Fire Rescue Department. These parties are soliciting residents for donations for firefighters and police officers. This is clearly a fraudulent attempt to acquire private personal financial information. Please be aware that the Maitland Fire Rescue Department and Maitland Police Department will never solicit donations from anyone.
