Parkside Chat with Councilman Lowndes

The Parkside Chat returns on Wednesday, Aug. 3, with Councilman Lowndes hosting.

The Parkside Chats series provides residents opportunities to ask questions and dialogue with a member of the City Council in a small group setting. Each session is held at the Maitland Community Park on the first Wednesday of most months from 8 to 9 a.m. Coffee will be provided.

City Council Recap

On Monday, July 25, the City Council met for a budget workshop and a meeting.

Three presentations were scheduled:

• Presentation of Reaccreditation to Council – Chief Doug Ball

• Presentation of Life Saving Awards – Officer Josh Rotarius and Officer Cory Dibiase

• Presentation from Public Risk Management – Safety Award 2016

The consent agenda was approved as presented:

• Approval of the City Council Meeting Minutes of July 11, 2016

• Approval of the City Council Budget Workshop Meeting of July 18, 2016

• Receipt of the Lakes Advisory Board Meeting Minutes of June 15, 2016

• Receipt of the Parks & Recreation Board Meeting Minutes of June 1, 2016

• Receipt of the Fiscal Advisory Board Meeting Minutes of April 12, 2016

• Receipt of the Transportation Advisory Board Meeting Minutes of June 9, 2016

• Receipt of the third quarter Financial Snapshot

• Resolution – Adopt General Financial Policies

• Resolution - Quiet Zone Improvement Agreement Amendment

Decision items included:

• Set Proposed Millage Rate (TRIM) date, time and place of public hearing

• TAB Recommendation of July 14, 2016 Maitland Avenue Corridor Study

The City Council will meet for a budget workshop on Monday, Aug. 1.
