He was born in Jan. 20, 1916, in Louisville, Kentucky, and reared in Georgia, graduating from Quitman High School and Piedmont College, Demorest, Georgia.
He retired as commander from the U.S. Navy after 27 years of service. He and his wife, Ina, moved in 1946 to Winter Garden, where he worked at the Railroad Office, as post master and a real-estate broker. He was a member of First Baptist Church since 1947 and was very active in the church and community.
Funeral services are through Baldwin Fairchild.
