Dr. Phillips High School has announced that its principal, Suzanne Knight, will be leaving Panther Nation to open a new middle school under construction in Horizon West.

She made the announcement Monday “with bittersweet emotions” in an email to DPHS families.

“It has always been a career goal of mine to open a new school,” she said. “When the position came available in Orange County, I took the opportunity to pursue this goal. I have loved my eights years as principal of Dr. Phillips. I am forever grateful and honored to have been your principal.”

During her transition, she will remain at the helm of Dr. Phillips until the new principal is named.

“I am proud to have served as your principal, and I will always be a Panther,” Knight said.
