In an effort to minimize large gatherings, the Town of Windermere has canceled all of its upcoming board and committee meetings until further notice.

The town announced on its Facebook page the cancellation of town council workshops as well as meetings related to the following boards and committees: Development Review Board, Food Truck / Farmers Market Selection Committee, Windermere Active Youth, Long Range Planning, Historic Preservation Board, Parks & Recreation and the Windermere Tree Board. The town will announce when the meetings will resume at a later date.

The move to cancel town meetings was made in response to COVID-19 as health officials worldwide have advised against holding large gatherings. In addition to canceling meetings in response to the virus, the Town Administration will be closed for non-personnel. All new building permits will be done online at https://pdcsllc.com/cities/windermere/.

Furthermore, the town is placing a moratorium on a number of permits and passes. The town will not be issuing any additional tennis keys or boat passes. These facilities will not be closed, however, the town will not issue any new tennis keys or boat passes at this time. The town will not be issuing any garage sale permits and all town hall rentals are on hold until further notice. Additionally, open house permit requirements are waived until further notice.

Any additional closures or schedule changes will be announced on the town website and social media accounts. Town residents with questions or concerns can reach out to Diane Edwards at [email protected].
