The Windermere Town Council is set to meet virtually via Zoom at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 28.

The town is preparing to move forward with construction of its new, permanent facilities — which will be built where the current facilities are located. Town staff will soon be moving to temporary facilities to be located at Fifth and Forrest while construction is underway.

Town staff is recommending moving forward with contracting HJ High for construction and removal of the temporary facilities at a cost not to exceed $280,000. According to town documents, the rental cost will be paid directly by the town during the 16-month period.

Staff also will provide a design development update regarding the new, permanent town facilities. According to the meeting agenda, town engineers and consultants will present the Town Council with an update.

Architectural Design Group has been working on the design process based on the originally approved schedule and are not in the design development phase. Town documents state the town received the design development package on April 23 and is reviewing it with stakeholders.

Other items on the agenda include discussion of the county’s one-cent sales tax initiative, a Fiscal Year 19/20 mid-year budget analysis report and extension of a contract with Waste Pro.
