There is also a proclamation to be given to police officer Ryan Miller for recognition of five years of service, an award of appreciation to John Thurman for his volunteer work. Austin Keaton and Joao Pacheco will also be recognized for their heroic action in saving a father and his daughter when their plane crashed into Lake Down near Windermere.

There is also a resolution in its first reading concerning an extension of Old Winter Garden Road to the West past Maguire Road to link to State Road 429, improvements to State Road 50 to reduce traffic, as well as construction of a connection between Tomyn Boulevard and the Turnpike.

The frequency of valet solid waste collection services will also be discussed and an ordinance regarding accessory buildings, structures and their uses will see its second reading tonight. The ordinance seeks to revise several articles from the Land Development Code.
