A new residential development along East Oakland Avenue could be coming to Winter Garden.

City commissioners will take action on the first reading of a rezoning ordinance pertaining to a 9.18-acre property generally located on the south side of East Oakland Avenue, west of Tildenville School Road and north of West Colonial Drive.

The ordinance seeks to rezone the property from R-1 (single-family residential district) to Planned Unit Development (PUD) to allow for the development of 17 single-family homes and a maximum of nine optional accessory dwelling units. The project includes stormwater ponds, open space and recreation areas, according to the agenda.

Commissioners will then consider approving the second reading of Ordinance 18-18, which amends the city's current fiscal year budget to make mid-year adjustments. If approved, a sum of $5,582,174 would be appropriated toward various infrastructure and improvement projects and equipment.

Under regular business, city leaders will consider a recommendation to approve the assignment of Harbor Drive Drainage Easements 1, 2 and 3, transferring all maintenance rights and duties to the city.

Commissioners will also take action on a recommendation to approve the final plat and right-of-way maintenance agreement for 605 E. Plant St.

Finally, city leaders will consider a recommendation to approve the city's annual 4th of July Party in the Park.
