62nd annual Easter Egg Hunt

The city is proud to announce its 62nd annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, March 26, in the beautiful Central Park West Meadow located in downtown Winter Park. This fun-filled event will provide as much excitement and laughs for the adults as it will for the kids. Don’t forget to bring your own Easter basket!

The hunt will begin promptly at 10 a.m. with the official starting signal. Children with special needs are also encouraged to join in the fun. Over 10,000 stuffed eggs will be placed throughout Central Park West Meadow, and as always, children who come up empty handed will still be able to enjoy special treats at the designated area.

Winter Park’s annual Easter Egg Hunt is the city’s oldest community event. Grandparents are now bringing the third generation of children to hunt for eggs, and fun is bound to be had by all. Earth Day in the Park

The city of Winter Park will proudly host Earth Day in the Park Sunday, April 10. This fun-filled event, presented by the city of Winter Park’s Sustainability Program and Keep Winter Park Beautiful, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Central Park. Ceremonial events from the main stage will include a mayor’s welcome and Winter Park Green School Grant Award presentations.

Earth Day in the Park will provide fun for all ages including a kid’s zone with games, art projects, educational planting experience, and tie-dye t-shirts; live music all day long; art contest; child and adult yoga; composting demo with free composter to the first 150 attendees; bike rodeo with helmet fitting, safety checks and obstacle course for ages 5 and up; food and beverage vendors; electric car show, and much more!

In celebration of Arbor Day, certified arborists from the city’s Urban Forestry Division will be on site to answer questions and give away an assortment of one-gallon containerized trees for city residents to plant at home. Also, a 15-gallon tree will be raffled with the winner being announced at 2:30 p.m.

Founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson in 1970, Earth Day is designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the earth’s environment. This celebration will showcase how the city of Winter Park and KWPB are working to make the city more sustainable. Attendees will learn how the city is working to implement a Sustainability Action Plan and be asked for their input for the community plan.

To promote creative and sustainable transportation modes, the Pedestrian & Bicycle Advisory Board will host the city of Winter Park Bike Valet. Patrons of the event will be able to check their bike free of charge at Morse Boulevard between Park and New York avenues.
