Mayor’s Report

• Business Recognition Award Recipient: Fourth Quarter 2015 – Peterbrooke Chocolatier

• Approve the minutes for Feb. 22, 2016.

Action Items Requiring Discussion

• Participation in South Seminole North Orange County Wastewater Transmission Authority (SSNOCWTA) bond issue

• Funding options for acquisition of property at 1111 W. Fairbanks Ave. (former bowling alley)

• Police department’s 2015-2018 Strategic Plan Update

• Showalter Field renovation and new Use Agreements with Orange County Public Schools and Rollins College.

Public Hearings

• Second reading of the ordinance authorizing the issuance of not exceeding $21 million Electric Refunding Revenue Bonds to finance the refunding of a portion of its outstanding Electric Refunding and Improvement Revenue Bonds, Series 2007.

• Request of Alfredas Sumanas for the property located at 1240 Fairview Avenue:

— Second reading of the ordinance amending the “Comprehensive Plan” Future Land Use Map to change from Office to a Commercial designation.

— Second reading of the ordinance amending the Official Zoning Map to change from Office District zoning to Commercial District.

• Request of Z Properties:

— Subdivision or lot-split approval to divide the property at 360 Beloit Ave., zoned R-1A, into two single-family building lots.

CoffeeTalk in City Hall

On Thursday, March 10, citizens can join the city’s Building & Permitting Services Department Director George Wiggins and Water & Wastewater Utilities Director David Zusi for CoffeeTalk at 8 a.m., at a new location for this month, on the second floor of City Hall in the Chapman Room, located at 401 S. Park Ave. Let’s enjoy a cup of conversation about our building, permitting and water projects, and great coffee provided by Barnie’s Coffee Kitchen. For more information, please call 407-599-3428.

Spring Pops Concert

On Sunday, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., the city will proudly host the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra as they present Spring Pops in charming Central Park in downtown Winter Park. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy an evening of heart-warming music under the stars. This wonderful performance is made possible by a generous grant from the Charlotte Julia Hollander Trust. The event is free and open to the public.
