West Orange High School has selected 11 Warriors past and present to represent the 2018 Hall of Fame. Retired teacher Peter Abatiello started the program in 2006 to recognize students, teachers and community members for their contributions to the school.

Being inducted into the 2018 Hall of Fame are:

• Athletics — Rob Anderson, a boys golf standout and 1993 graduate of West Orange who continued his studies at Georgia Institute of Technology; Teddy Craig, Warrior baseball coach from 1995 to 2002; Doug Anderson, baseball player in the class of 1989 who continued his studies at the University of North Florida; Leroy Kenard, football star and 1987 graduate who attended Liberty University; Brad Nordquist, football standout in the class of 1992 who attended the University of Tennessee Chattanooga; Kevin Fay, golf and soccer player and member of the class of 1999 who continued at Auburn University; 1994 softball team.

• Arts — Gabe Preisser, who graduated from WOHS in 2000 and performed with the Florida State Opera in the Florida State University’s College of Music.

• Academics — Ashley Wells, valedictorian for the class of 1993, who continued her studies at Duke University; Robert Restivo, graduate of Auburn University and a West Orange Teacher of the Year; Margie Fox, a New York University graduate and a WOHS Teacher of the Year; and Karen Fay, who has made significant benevolent contributions to West Orange High School.

The Hall of Fame program takes place at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the West Orange Country Club, 330 West Orange Country Club Drive, Winter Garden. Dinner is included in the $36 ticket price.

Each of the 11 winners receives a plaque; an additional plaque is added to West Orange’s Wall of Honor. Hall of Fame candidates are nominated by their peers, and then a nine-person board made up of people in the community and at the school and local businesses make the final vote.
