Woman carjacked at Aldi food market in Orange County

The suspect held a pocket knife to the victim's neck.

ORANGE COUNTY – Deputies say a woman shopping at an Aldi food market in Orange County was carjacked late Friday, April 13.

The armed carjacking occurred in the parking lot of the Aldi's located at 5524 W. Colonial Drive a little after 8 p.m., according to a press release.

The 65-year-old woman was placing shopping bags in her vehicle when the suspect approached her, pulled a pocket knife from his waistband, placed the blade to her neck and demanded the car keys.

The woman obliged and handed over her keys, at which point the suspect, who is described to be a black man ranging in age from 25 to 30 fled in the 2016 black Mazda Miata. The victim suffered no physical injuries aside from a scratch on her neck.
