Continue the Independence Day celebration and catch a musical, all in downtown Winter Garden this weekend!

 

1. INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT THE MARKET

8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at the Winter Garden Farmers Market in the downtown pavilion, 104 S. Lakeview Ave. Enjoy wholesome family fun with a Life-Size Family Game Zone, special Snapchat photos, vendor-booth patriotic decorating contest, special-priced fresh watermelon and summer fruit and more. 2. RED, WHITE & BLUES ON THE PLAZA

6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at the Centennial Plaza in downtown Winter Garden, 101 W. Plant St. Listen to classic blues performed by the four-member, Central Florida-based Grimes Alley Blues Band.

3. “FLASHDANCE THE MUSICAL”

7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays July 5 through 28 and 2 p.m. July 18 and 25, at the Garden Theatre, 160 W. Plant St., Winter Garden.

Two ’80s Karaoke Night events are scheduled for July 13 and 27 after the performances. Guests can hit the stage to belt out their favorite ’80s hits. The events are free and hosted by DJ Di.

Based on the iconic film, the musical tells the story of 18-year-old Alex Owens, a welder by day and “flashdancer” by night, and her dreams to become a professional dancer.

Cost is $35 for general admission and $30 for students and seniors. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. Gardentheatre.org.

The production contains adult themes and language, and view discretion is encouraged.
