9/11/01

The Twin Towers in lower Manhattan are destroyed by Moslem terrorists — more than 3,000 innocent Americans murdered. The Moslems have always had a quaint habit of building monuments near the sites of their victories. Istanbul (Constantinople) is one. A Moslem move is now under way to build a memorial Mosque near the 9/11 site where our two proudest skyscrapers were razed by Moslem terrorists.

Pearl Harbor

Has any Japanese or American individual or organization ever proposed that a memorial be built in Hawaii, near the site of the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941? Note: Many Americans of Japanese descent served with distinction in the American Armed Forces in World War II. (When you have figured this out, let me know. You can find me in my library thinking, trying to locate some trace of logic in the history of the human animal).

Radicals

We all know that a group of radicals is scheming to "alter" these United States — the U.S. would end as a Left-wing Progressive state. Many Americans suspect that Progressives have already made inroads in this country. Some think that a top Progressive Leftist is sitting in the White House. Strange: this country, which has demonstrated the capitalist system to be the best in the world, also spawns dissatisfied troublemakers who work round the clock to destroy the land that has given them everything.

Schoolbooks

George Soros — a trouble instigator — funds the Tides Foundation that furnishes many books school kids read, proclaiming that America has succeeded by raping the rest of the world, and that none of our "stuff" is truly ours. (I went to Winter Park public schools in the '30s. Our books taught us to respect our flag, our country and our national heroes. What happened? Don't today's parents read the books that their kids are accepting as God's truth?) Those who pay the taxes that run our public schools must take the responsibility for allowing such miscreants as Soros to exert even the minutest influence on American schoolbooks and the young minds who study them.

Welfare

Is welfare ever a solution? Has there ever been a slim, trim, efficient welfare program? Is there any procedure to link the donors with the right recipients? I remember my early days when the "poor" received eleemosynary nourishment from private do-gooders. Was I naïve at being surprised when, after Roosevelt's "welfare" arrived, the "underprivileged" often sported nice cars and zippy portable radios — items many so-called "middle class" folks might not possess?

Women voters

I am delighted to learn that U.S. women voters now outnumber men voters. The female sex has kept our homes hospitable, our lives in order, our social and cultural activities friendly and interesting and our families motivated. I shall welcome the day when female political office holders outnumber the men. Can anyone imagine that women alone would have put the present occupants of the White House in place? Ditto for many members of Congress? If I am wrong in my facts, it's because I am masculine, and you know how men are!
