JUNE 28 CITY COMMISSION MEETING TOPICS OF INTEREST

There will be a City Commission meeting on Monday, June 28, at 3:30 p.m., in City Hall Commission Chambers. Below are a few topics of interest:

NON-ACTION ITEMS:

Proposed changes to animal Ordinance No. 2665-06. Please note that no public input will be taken at this time, however, may be taken at a future meeting depending on the outcome of the Commission's discussion.

CONSENT AGENDA:

-Approve the minutes of June 14.

-Approve the award emergency debris management services contract to Ceres Environmental Services.

-Approve the Guaranteed Max Price contract with Turner Construction Company for the community center project.

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

-Request of Winter Park Towers, 1111 S. Lakemont Ave.: To be held at 5 p.m. or soon thereafter

-First reading of the ordinance repealing and re-adopting Policy 3-1.8.4 in the Future Land Use Element regarding conditions under which Future Land Use Map changes are permitted from Single Family or Low Density Residential to Medium Density or High Density Residential.

-First reading of the ordinance changing the Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map from Low Density Residential to High Density Residential

-First reading of the ordinance changing the zoning designation of Planned Unit Residential District (PURD) to Multi-Family (High Density R-4).

-Amendment to the preliminary conditional use approval granted on Jan. 25, 2010, to allow the construction of a four-level, 383-space parking garage; a four-story residential building of 24 units adjacent to the western and lakefront side of the proposed parking garage; and a five-story, 30 unit residential building adjacent to the northern side of the proposed parking garage plus a new 20-unit, two-story, garden apartment residential building in the area of the western portion of the existing parking lot on property zoned R-4.

-Appeal of David Miller appealing the decision of the Historic Preservation Commission regarding the property located at 777 French Ave.

-Request of SunTrust Bank: Conditional Use approval to construct a drive-in bank teller facility at 301 S. New York Ave., on the northwest corner of New England and New York avenues. To be held at 5 p.m. or soon thereafter.

-Second reading of the ordinance adopting the annual update to the Capital Improvement Element to incorporate the updated five-year Capital Improvements Plan to the Comprehensive Plan.

-Resolution - Calling for a public hearing to discuss undergrounding of electric/CATV facilities to be paid in part by special assessments levied against properties of Temple Grove.

Meeting as the Equalization Board (To be held at 5 p.m. or soon thereafter)

-Resolution - Declaring that the city is to fund capital improvements for undergrounding electric/CATV (BrightHouse Networks) facilities along Granville Drive and Williams Drive with the costs to be paid by special assessments.

-Resolution - Confirming the special assessments for the undergrounding of electric/CATV (BrightHouse Networks) facilities along Granville Drive and Williams Drive

-Resolution - Declaring that the city is to fund capital improvements for undergrounding electric/CATV (BrightHouse Networks) facilities along Golfview Terrace and North Park Avenue with the costs to be paid by special assessments.

-Resolution - Confirming the special assessments for the undergrounding of electric/CATV (BrightHouse Networks) facilities along Golfview Terrace and North Park Avenue.

-First reading of the ordinance amending Chapter 58 "Land Development Code" Comprehensive Plan within the Future Land Use Element so as to amend policies involving densities, building heights and mix of uses within the Central Business District and Medium Density Residential Future Land Use categories, amend policies concerning the prohibitions on subdivisions and certain future land use map changes and to clarify certain other policy provisions and definitions.

JUNE 30 STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION

The City Commission will meet to continue its strategic planning session on Wednesday, June 30, from 1-5:30 p.m. in Room 200 located on the second floor of City Hall. The public is invited to attend, however, no public comment will be taken.

4TH OF JULY ROAD CLOSURE

The City of Winter Park will present their annual Olde Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration on Saturday, July 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Central Park.

Park Avenue will be closed to traffic from Canton Avenue to Morse Boulevard from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Side streets will also be closed at the Park Avenue intersections along the closed route beginning at 6 a.m. Please make note of these road closures prior to traveling around downtown Winter Park on Saturday, July 3.

The city is proud to offer a new "Event Photos" feature on the city's official website at www.cityofwinterpark.org. Web visitors can now view photos from the city's major events right at their desk.

The new Event Photos feature can be found by clicking on Media > Event Photos or under Featured Events > View All Events on the homepage.
