Louis Roney: Barack-a-bye baby

Obama promised to vacate the premises if he did not accomplish all that he promised us.

While waiting to see what President Barack Obama is going to do next to elucidate his profound thinking, I toy with the baseless suspicion that the next presidential election might not come on schedule. The Chicago crowd that gave us Obama — Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn and former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich — may be thinking of ways to outdo itself in surprises. The biggest surprise, of course, would be if the U.S. election did not take place on time. I have no doubt that Obama would brake the election if it appeared either advantageous or necessary to his ambitions. If he senses that he is not going to remain in the White House by vote, would you be surprised if he thinks up some way or another to install himself as a semi-permanent “guest”? We hear that Obama dotes on polls and that a bad poll can give him indigestion. After all, this president has never focused much on issues and has made character assassination his “tool of the day.” Let’s not forget Obama’s glib promise to vacate the premises if he did not accomplish all that he promised us in his first term. In this commentator’s opinion, Obama is not only “not accountable” but is “no count, no how.” Of all the great Americans in this land, why did we have to choose this loser?

Adjusting laws

A great many of the new and “adjusted” laws to govern us these days have, it seems, been generated by the executive branch and have had no truck with any legislative endorsement at all. There are lots of names to call this kind of shenanigans, and most of them would probably not please the White House.

How can we trust him?

Remember the occasion when Obama was meeting with the then-president of Russia and was overheard on a live microphone saying, “This is my last election. After I am elected, I have more flexibility.” How about letting the American public in on your private chats, Barack? How can we possibly trust Obama?

Where’s the evidence?

If Obama’s ideas really worked, how come so many Americans are not working? “Another year, another trillion” is Obama’s theme song. Every year he has been in office, the debt has risen a trillion-plus. Can we afford him four more years?

Our Navy Seals reportedly think that Obama took too much credit for the assassination of Osama bin Laden. The Seals also opine that White House leaks are getting military personnel killed.

Who’s benefiting?

Petrobras — know that name? That is the Brazilian oil company that received a $2 billion loan from the Obama administration for deepwater oil drilling. It’s the oil company who has a big investor named, guess who? George Soros — the very man who helped finance Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, along with other “progressive” candidates. And who will benefit from the “loan”? Georgie, of course, and perhaps Obama and the 2012 “progressive” candidates. Meanwhile, the moratorium has been lifted in the Gulf of Mexico for U.S. companies. One small problem: Our “regulatory czar,” Cass Sunstein, is making it impossible for the American companies to get “drilling permits” because of new, excessive regulations. There’s more! The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement has approved a Petrobras permit to deepwater drill in the gulf. Coincidence? Don’t be naive! As of April, only two American companies had been allowed permits.

And now for the dismal finale

Remember when Obama said in one of his speeches, “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, gas and electricity rates will necessarily skyrocket”? Believe Obama this time.
