Kuykendall Gardner, a Winter Park-based insurance brokerage firm, recently hired Brendan Loflin as vice president. He will be responsible for insurance and bond sales, new business development, client relations and client maintenance.

University of Phoenix Central Florida campus celebrated National Nurses Week recently by hosting a special event at the campus in Maitland. At the event, local nurses and nurse leaders received complimentary massages, light snacks and an appreciation goodie bag courtesy of the University of Phoenix. They also took time to discuss the current trends and nursing environment with their peers.

The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce presented a $10,000 donation to the Winter Park Day Nursery at last Friday’s Good Morning Winter Park as a result of the 2011-12 Chamber Cares project. Launched in 2008, Chamber Cares is a small business and community philanthropy effort that has raised almost $100,000 to support initiatives that benefit the Winter Park community. The Winter Park Day Nursery will use the funds to further their mission of providing quality early childhood education for low-income families in the community.

Attorney Aaron J. Gorovitz, a long-time real estate partner with Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A., has been appointed Chair-elect of The Central Florida Partnership, a non-profit organization comprised of business and civic leaders committed to procuring a better tomorrow for Central Florida’s seven counties.
