The Maitland City Council met on Monday, Dec. 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. Below is a synopsis of that meeting.

Old Business:

• Orange County Natural Resource Ordinance: The City Manager stated that there was nothing new to report at this time and that we should receive an update sometime in January.

Public Hearings: There were no scheduled Public Hearings.

Consent Items:

• The City Council Meeting Minutes of Nov. 25, 2013 were approved.

• The Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting Minutes of Oct. 17, 2013 were accepted.

• A Sidewalk Maintenance Easement Agreement with Uptown Maitland Partners, LTD. was approved.

• The purchase of a 2014 Chevy Tahoe Vehicle in the amount of $40,770 for the fire department was approved.

• The City Council Meeting of Dec. 23, 2013 was canceled.

Decision Items:

• The Council approved a contract with Keith and Schnars, P.A. as the Select Mobility Fee Consultant in the amount of $45,335.

• The Council requested a workshop be scheduled to discuss the options for the Thurston House Lease Renewal.

• The Interlocal Agreement for the Summit Centre Way Row was approved.

• Chicken Keeping Ordinance – Interpretation of Separation Requirements. After discussion, an amendment to the Chicken Keeping Ordinance will be presented for first reading at the Jan. 13, 2014 Council Meeting.

Discussion Item:

• The Chairman of the Code of Conduct Committee discussed the ordinance that was drafted by Committee and answered questions posed by Council. Various members of the Committee addressed the draft ordinance.
