Pookie's honored as business of the quarter

Pookie’s Pet Nutrition & Bow Wow Bakery began with one full-time employee, and currently employs six full- and part-time employees. Customers rely on the information and suggestions given by the long-term, knowledgeable staff. Pookie’s objective is to provide excellent customer service for all of their customers – whether they are in-store, on the phone, Internet, or utilizing home delivery.

Pookie’s supports 40 local nonprofit rescue groups, pet-related organizations, and Pet Alliance of Central Florida. They participate in educational community outreach programs on pet safety (Winter Park Police Department’s National Night Out) and pet nutrition (Orlando Public Library system). Pookie’s also donates gift baskets/certificates to numerous pet- and non-pet related organizations for charity events, and coordinates donated pet food distribution for various groups. Net proceeds from their holiday pictures during December are allocated to various groups as well.

Pookie’s stresses pet-owner education while serving as advocates for adoption rather than purchasing a pet. They host rescue groups in-store to showcase adoptable dogs and cats, as well as provide space for mini-events that benefit rescue groups.

For these reasons and more, we are proud to announce Pookie’s Pet Nutrition & Bow Wow Bakery as the Second Quarter 2015 Business Recognition Award recipient and wish them continued success!
