OAKLAND The board and staff of Oakland Nature Preserve, with the support of Oakland and Friends of Lake Apopka officials, held the inaugural Night at the Preserve Saturday, April 2.
Guides directed four tours around the preserve, from preserve history and restoration to edible plants and a sunset boardwalk tour leading to Lake Apopka. At three different stations, guests received drinks and a catered buffet while musicians played.
The night ended with silent auction and raffle drawings for prizes worth hundreds of dollars altogether, as well as a special announcement of new signs officials will unveil soon.
