Polasek Museum receives grant

The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens received a $10,500 grant from the Winter Park Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Central Florida Foundation. The grant will help further the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens’ mission of promoting the legacy of internationally known sculptor Albin Polasek and to encourage study, appreciation and the furtherance of representational art by funding the development of a marketing plan, including social media marketing and website design, for the Capen-Showalter House.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater seeking plays

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF is seeking new full-length plays that speak to the human condition in a fascinating and complicated contemporary world. Topics may range from today’s international headlines to tonight's interpersonal issues in the bedroom. Both comedies and dramas are welcome. Six of the new works submitted will be selected for readings in the theater’s annual play festival PlayFest in fall 2016 and considered for fully staged productions in future seasons. Restaurant: Impossible casting call

Restaurant: Impossible is coming to the Orlando area! We are seeking enthusiastic individuals that would love to work with our talent and crew as design and construction volunteers on the show!

Volunteers maybe painting, crafting, constructing, remodeling, cleaning, decorating etc. (depending on your skill set). Always looking for skilled contractors, electricians, plumbers, upholsters and painters to help out and donate their time.

The volunteer schedule is as follows:

Shift #1 – Wednesday, February 3rd: 12:00pm to 7pm

Shift #2 – Wednesday, February 3rd: 7pm to 2am

Shift #3 - Thursday, February 4th: 10:30am to 6pm

Volunteering is a great way to meet people in your field and community, while contributing to a good cause!

  • This is a volunteer position, however meals will be provided.

  • You must be 18 years or older to volunteer.

  • Any and all volunteers may be on camera.

  • Please wear work clothing with no logos & sneakers/boots.

  • Volunteers are not limited to one shift.
