City Council recap

On Monday, June 13, the City Council met for a meeting.

Three presentations were scheduled:

• Employee of the Quarter

• Update – New Hope for Kids – Dave Joswick, executive director

• Pension fund update – Chairman David O’Connor

The City Council meeting recessed and the Community Redevelopment meeting convened.

The consent agenda was approved as presented:

• Approval of the Community Redevelopment Agency meeting minutes

One decision item was on the agenda:

• Approval of the contract for the redesign of Independence Lane “Festival Street” streetscape

The Community Redevelopment Agency adjourned and the City Council meeting reconvened.

The consent agenda was approved as presented:

• Approval of the City Council meeting minutes of May 23, 2016

• Receipt of the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting minutes of May 5 and May 19, 2016

• Receipt of the Transportation Advisory Board meeting minutes of April 14, 2016

• Receipt of the Lakes Advisory Board meeting minutes of April 20, 2016

• Receipt of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meeting minutes of April 6 and May 4, 2016

• Resolution – Landscape Construction & Maintenance Agreement with FDOT – Maitland Station

Eight decision items included:

• Appointments – Board of Zoning Adjustment (on alternate) appointment – Police Officers & Firefighters Pension Trust Fund Board two appointments.

• City manager contract

• Ordinance – Non-exclusive construction and demolition franchise agreement – Alternative Trucking Services Inc.

• Ordinance – Amending Chapter 6, Fire Protection Facilities and Services Impact Fee

• Stormwater & Lakes Management Plan update

• Quiet zones agreement

• Ordinance – Adopting 2014 Florida Building Code and Amendments to Chapter 1 of Building Code

• Ordinance – International Property Maintenance Code

The City Council discussed the following item:

• Recommendation of Wetlands Protection Ordinance
