Yesterday afternoon, Nov. 9, at 5:51 p.m., the Orange Count Sheriff's Office was alerted to an armed robbery that occurred on Biltmore Road.

The official report states that the victim, a 19 year old hispanic male, was robbed at gunpoint by a black male (aged 18 - 20's) before the suspect fled off in a vehicle. While the victim had his wallet stolen, it was reported that he did not suffer from any injuries.

After the robbery, the victim found the suspect's vehicle parked at Inn Town Suites (736 Lee Road), but by the time authorities got to the scene the suspects had already fled.

This morning, Nov. 10, at 9:55 a.m., a deputy from OCSO noticed the suspect  in a vehicle that matched the description from the previous night's armed robbery. The vehicle pulled into a Shell Station at Forest City Rd. and Riverside Dr, said Public Information Officer Ingrid Tejada-Monforte.

"Upon attempting to make contact with the driver, the vehicle fled northbound on Riverside Dr.  Deputies engaged in a short pursuit of the vehicle," Tejada-Monforte said. "As the suspect vehicle crossed Magnolia Homes Rd., he struck an innocent victim’s vehicle causing it to crash into a large rock severely damaging the vehicle."

There is no current information on if the victim suffered any injuries.

The collision with the victim's vehicle caused the suspect to crash into a pile of rock, as well as a tree, which disabled the vehicle at Bentley at Maitland Apartments.

After the crash, a black female fled from the driver's side of the car, before being arrested after a short foot pursuit. Other officers checked the crashed vehicle, finding a black male suspect stuck due to damage to the vehicle, Tejada-Monforte said. Along with the suspect, OCSO also found two guns within the vehicle.

This is an ongoing story and investigation.
