WINTER GARDEN  – City commissioners will consider approving the first reading of an ordinance that carries over appropriation funds to the current fiscal year budget at the Winter Garden City Commission meeting Thursday evening.

Ordinance 18-04 seeks to amend the current year’s budget to carry forward appropriations from the city's budget last year to fund projects, machinery, equipment and other items that were budgeted but not purchased during the fiscal year ending in 2017.

Additionally, three city commissioners will take their oaths of office: District 2 City Commissioner Bob Buchanan; District 3 City Commissioner Mark A. Maciel and District 4 Commissioner Colin Sharman. Each were unopposed in the City of Winter Garden's General Election held March 13.

Commissioners will also vote on the second readings of six ordinances that involve two properties.

Ordinances 18-11, 18-12 and 18-13 pertain to the annexation, future land-use designation and rezoning of a 0.16-acre parcel located at 720 Magnolia Ave. If adopted, the ordinances would annex the property in the City of Winter Garden, amend the future land-use designation from Orange County Low-Density Residential to City Low Residential and rezone it from Orange County Residential District to City Residential District.

The other three ordinances up for a second reading involve a 0.21-acre property located at 557 Ninth St. If approved, ordinances 18-14, 18-15 and 18-16 would annex the property into the city, change the property’s future land-use designation from Orange County Low Residential to City Low-Density Residential and rezone the property from Orange County Residential District to City Residential District.

Also on the agenda for this evening's meeting is a recommendation from town staff to approve the purchase of new Wheeled Coach Ford, Custom Type I Ambulance from REV Technical Center, which costs $228,915.

After addressing ordinances and regular business, commissioners will dispense as the City Commission and convene the meeting as the Community Redevelopment Agency and consider a recommendation by the Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board to approve a Facade Matching Grant valued up to $10,000 for 24 E. Joiner St.
