Oakland to offer COVID shots

The town is partnering to offer first and second doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

The COVID-19 vaccine will be available to qualified Orange County residents Fridays, March 19 and April 9, at the Oakland Meeting Hall, 221 N. Arrington St. This program is being offered in partnership with Orange County and Orange County Fire Rescue.

Participants must attend both dates. To register for the vaccine, call (321) 614-3272. Vaccinations are by appointment only, and no walk-ups will be allowed.

Currently, eligibility for the Oakland vaccination site is as follows:

Florida residents ages 65 and older with state-issued ID

Seasonal residents ages 65 and older with two forms of proof of residence

Sworn law-enforcement officers and firefighters ages 50 and older with state-issued ID and proof of employment

All K-12 school employees ages 50 and older with state-issued ID and proof of employment

 The site will comply with the state of Florida’s current executive order at the time. Updated information may be found at floridahealthcovid19.gov.
