The Matthew’s Hope Firm Foundation Preschool is kicking off a food, hygiene and clothing drive next week.

The latest program unveiled by West Orange County’s homeless ministry is a preschool based on the Montessori system of teaching and learning for children ages 3 to 6 with an eagerness to learn.

“These kids have no place to go,” Matthew’s Hope founder Scott Billue said. “But we didn’t want to have glorified childcare. The kids are actually getting a foundation to work from.”

The preschool will be collecting items to help restock the Matthew's Hope Outreach.

The organization's goal is to collect 500 pounds of supplies so that the preschool can earn a cookies and milk party.

The drive will begin on Monday, Nov. 28, at 740 9th St., Winter Garden.
