Ocoee cadet awarded gold stars at The Citadel

An Ocoee cadet was awarded recently gold stars for their fall 2022 semester at The Citadel.

Gage Timberlake is one of the more than 650 cadets and students who are being recognized for their academic achievements during the semester.

According to The Citadel, gold stars are awarded to cadets and students who have earned a grade point ratio of 3.7 or higher. These individuals are also placed on The Citadel's dean's list.

The cadet's honored may wear gold stars on their uniforms throughout the semester following their academic achievement. 

A gold star recognition certificate is awarded to non-cadet students who meet the requirements. In addition, veteran and active duty students are awarded challenge coins.

The Citadel, located in Charleston, South Carolina, offers "a classic military college education for young men and women focused on leadership excellence and academic distinction," according to the organization's website.
