Thousands of rowers took to Turkey Lake to compete in the annual competition put on by the Orlando Area Rowing Society.
Rowing teams packed into Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake Saturday, March 7th, and Sunday, March 8th, for the annual OARS Invitational Regatta put on by the Orlando Area Rowing Society.
Over the course of the two-day event, over 1,000 rowers from crew organizations around the state of Florida — as well as neighboring states — took on one another on a 1500m course in the middle of Turkey Lake.
Races, which were supposed to take place every seven minutes, were sometimes delayed due to a heavy breeze that swept through during the weekend. Despite the difficult weather, rowers still got the chance to showcase their skills.
