The Wolverines and Titans will now go on to play in the state playoffs next week.
The Windermere High volleyball team notched its second-straight district title in a 3-0 sweep of Olympia on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Coming into the game the Wolverines (8-2) enjoyed a bye in the quarterfinals as the top seed, while Olympia (7-8) knocked off rival Dr. Phillips in a 3-1 win the day before.
In the first two sets the Wolverines dominated on their way to 25-10 and 25-13 wins, before Olympia stepped up and made the third set more competitive — though the Titans would eventually fall 25-23.
With Windermere and Olympia making the district final, both will enjoy a spot in the state playoffs — the Wolverines will host Tohopekaliga on Wednesday, Oct. 21, while Olympia travels to Lake Nona the same day. Both games are slated for 7 p.m. starts.
