After 16 years of coaching, Lassiter celebrated his 200th win surrounded by his team, assistant coaches and family.
At a home game against the Horizon Hawks March 31, Windermere High head coach Eric Lassiter achieved his 200th career win as a coach with a score of 12-1.
The moment the Wolverines won the game, the players dumped the cooler filled with cold water on coach Lassiter.
“Two hundred feels one better than 199,” he said. “But it’s really my assistant coaches and players.”
After the game, the team presented the coach with a plaque to commemorate the moment. They also had a number 200 carved on wood for him. His daughter, Priya, handed it to him.
“The games are an outcome of how you do at practice,” he said. “These guys come ready to practice every day, so I appreciate them being willing to do that.”
Lassiter is already looking forward to putting on his uniform today, April 1, sitting down on the same place and watching his team play against Dr. Phillips. Game time is 7 p.m.
