Ring in 2017 at Aloma Bowl! Daytime and nighttime packages are available for groups and individuals. The daytime package includes two games of bowling and shoe rental and a $10 arcade card for $15 per guest. The daytime party lasts from open until 6 p.m. Enjoy music from The Rollbacks at the nighttime party, which lasts from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There is no cover. Guests can enjoy a special New Year’s package with bowling and shoes, party favors, a champagne toast and a balloon drop at midnight for $100 in advance for up to five guests. The Walk n’ Talk for Life aims to encourage community members to engage in fitness that instills a life-long healthy lifestyle. The legacy for pediatric nurse practitioner Tori Sheahan, a consummate caretaker and champion for the health of local youth, will be continued at this walk on Saturday, Jan. 7, at Harbor Park in Baldwin Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the walk commences at 9 a.m. Participants can sign up through the Tori Sheahan Walk ‘n Talk for Life fund at foundationforocps.org/ToriSheahanWalk.

The city of Winter Park is proud to present the 16th annual Dinner on the Avenue, a unique, fun-filled dining experience has become the social event of the year. Tables will go on sale Monday, Jan. 9, at 8 a.m. at the Winter Park Community Center located at 721 W. New England Ave. Gather a table of friends, family, co-workers or neighbors to dine under the stars on beautiful Park Avenue. Tables of eight are available for just $125 each. Only the table, white linen tablecloth and chairs are provided – everything else is up to you. Get creative with table set-up and let your appetites decide whether you bring your own potluck dinner or hire a local caterer to satisfy your palate. Creativity is encouraged and each group is challenged to develop its own unique look and individual décor. Awards will be presented to winners in various categories including most colorful, most elegant, most original, best TV/movie-themed and honorable mentions. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents Circus XTREME features artists who redefine the word “extreme” in everything they do, magnifying traditional elements of the circus and combining them with never-before-seen spectacles, original fast-paced performances and incredibly hilarious moments. Our world today is divided, bifurcated between the zero-sum binaries of win/lose, good and evil, either/or, profane and holy. Franciscan activist Richard Rohr invites us to see beyond these social entrapments toward the beauty of paradox, a hopeful horizon of unitive consciousness where everything belongs, at the Gladdening Light Symposium 2017. He will be joined by Haitian surrealist painter Frantz Zephirin. It will begin with an opening reception Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. and will run through Jan. 29. All events will occur within close proximity to downtown Winter Park and Rollins College. The cost is $330 for the entire weekend, although some lectures are priced separately. Olga Kern is recognized as one of her generation’s great pianists, and she’ll be performing at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29, at the Tiedtke Concert Hall in Rollins College. With her vivid stage presence, passionately confident musicianship, and extraordinary technique, the striking pianist continues to captivate fans and critics alike. She jump-started her U.S. career with her historic Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, the first woman to earn this distinction in more than 30 years. Single? Married? It’s Complicated? The Run 4 Love 4 Mile is for everyone that has the love of running and walking or may just be discovering it. Bring your loves and experience the euphoria of a healthy lifestyle at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Showalter Field, located at 2525 Cady Way. It’s a Christmas spectacular on New Broad Street! The McBride family in Baldwin Park is happy to present its annual light show at their home at 4564 New Broad St. – this year with 30,000 lights. The family is collecting donations – and matching the amount raised by 100 percent – to donate to Audubon Cares, which is an effort by the Audubon Park Elementary School PTA to help students in need at APES and other schools in the greater Orlando community. The display is complete with a snow machine running on Saturday nights, and hot cocoa and cookies for sale on select nights.

Running through Sunday, Jan. 8, the city of Winter Park will host Winter in the Park, the city’s annual holiday ice skating rink at Central Park West Meadow on the corner of New York Avenue and Morse Boulevard. Winter in the Park will be open Monday through Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m.; Friday, 3 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 8 p.m. See website for extended school holiday hours. All-day admission is $12 and includes skate rentals. Group discounts are available for 20 or more people. Rental options are available, though reservations are required for private parties.
